J-1000 Main Bearing Boring Machine
Designed especially for Chevrolet, the J-1000 Main Bearing Boring Machine operates so simply and easily that any mechanic can perform a bearing fitting job in record time. The three support brackets—in which the adjustable upright bearing guides are fastened—insure perfect alignment. This feature, together with self-aligning ball bearings, hold the cutter bar in a rigid and true position, insuring a perfect bore. The cutter bar is fed through the bearing by a quick locking feed attachment that is inserted into the end of the bar. Complete setup and operating instructions are included with this boring machine. |

Dealers who purchased the former K-465 Main Bearing Boring Machine prior to this change in 1937 could not service main bearings on the new four bearing crankshaft jobs. The J-1000-37 supplementary parts brought the K-465 Main Bearing Boring Machine up to date. |

Boring Bar Micrometer

This micrometer has a "V" type base and aligns with the boring bar for a direct reading (the exact bore will be determined from the cutting setting). For example, if the micrometer shows a reading of 1.9375, that is the diameter of the hole that the cutter will bore. There are no other calculations to make as with a standard type micrometer.
